First Air Ambulance in Nepal
First air ambulance in Nepal is now started to give services. Air ambulances in Nepal are aircrafts that are equipped with the most basic to the most sophisticated medical equipments for patients who fall sick when travelling or in such places where a normal road ambulance cannot reach. Fishtail air helicopter is the first air ambulance in Nepal and it is launched and started by Grande International Hospital, Dhapasi, Kathmandu, Nepal.

The first air ambulance of Nepal is now ready to serve for the public. Â This historical air ambulance service is started for public by Grande International Hospital, Dhapasi, Kathmandu, Nepal. Fishtail Air helicopter landed on the roof of the 15 storeyed hospital building on 2013 October 30, which formally began the air ambulance service. The helicopter landed with a rescued tourist from Lukla. Personnels from the Civil Aviation were present on the occasion.
Nepal may be lagging behind in many aspects compared to the world or even South Asia but in some places, we are trying to keep up the pace.
If the first thing that comes to mind when contemplating the history of air ambulance services is the cast of the television show M*A*S*H, set during the Korean war, you’re almost a century too late. This is a new start and a great start.
