in Travels
A A
rock climbing

There is nothing more enjoyable than when you are on an adventure on holiday. An adventure gives you the chance to connect with nature, spend time with your loved ones in a unique scenario, discover completely new things and potentially put you out of your comfort zone – imagine doing a skydive in Australia!

Pretty much every country offers a different sort of adventure that you can enjoy, meaning there is a place for everyone to go. Someone who likes cycling could take on the Danube Cycle Path from Germany. If you enjoy being on your feet and hiking, you could take on the Fisherman’s Trail in Portugal or if you enjoy climbing you could try Paklenica in Croatia.

You don’t necessarily need any experience to take on a new adventure as most challenges are graded by difficulty, with many beginner adventures that you can take on. Alternatively, if you have got experience, you could try an advanced adventure.

To give you some inspiration, below we have put together our guide on where to go when you want an adventure.

The Danube Cycle Path

If you enjoy cycling and have a good level of experience within cycling long distances, then The Danube Cycle Path could be something that will interest you. This route will take you through Germany, Austria, Hungary and Slovenia with a distance travelled of over 1260 km. As you can imagine you’ll see a myriad of wonderful landscapes, burn many calories and be on an exciting adventure.

Nærøyfjord Norway

Have you had the chance to visit Norway before? Norway is a beautiful country that is extremely unique. The Fjords are simply stunning and something that should be high on your bucket list of places to visit. In particular, if you enjoy an adventure, then kayaking Nærøyfjord, is just that. Known to be one of the most stunning routes, Kayaking is extremely popular.

The Fisherman’s Trail, Portugal

Hiking is something that anyone can enjoy, no matter their age. It’s not too strenuous, but you will work your muscles and cardiovascular system at the same time as see many wonderful places. In particular, this Fisherman’s Trial is ideal if you like the idea of hiking and an adventure. You’ll travel over 89 km and see unspoilt stunning beaches, countryside and cliffs. It’s based in Portugal, where you’ll also get to stop off and enjoy the delicious cuisine. If you’ve been to Portugal before and want to try a different country, Greece has some lovely hikes that you can enjoy.

With so many different types of adventure holidays out there, it can be hard to decide which one to go on – you’ll just have to try a different one each year! When going on an adventure, the best way to have fun is to bring your friends and family members along, this way you have company along the way.
