in Travels
A A

What is so special about Nepal? Let’s discuss about it. Nepal is rich in historical attractions, natural beauty, and vast cultural heritage has proven to be the perfect mix between the ancient and the modern slow paced lifestyles and frantic city life.

This wonderful country is full of amazing green vegetation, fantastic high Himalayas, diverse culture and ethnicity, and impressive valleys.

Religious Values and geography

Nepal is also the birthplace of Gautama Buddha. It has recently become a secular country, but before, it was the only Hindu kingdom in the world.

Hinduism, Buddhism, Islam, and Christianity are the major religions that are practiced in Nepal. The culture of Nepal encompasses the various cultures belonging to the significant distinct ethnic groups present in Nepal. Nepal’s culture is expressed through music and dance, art and craft, folklore, languages and literature, philosophy and religion, festivals and celebrations, food and drinks.

Cows are sacred in the Hindu religion and cannot be killed. The cow is the national animal. It is common practice to clean the home with water and cow manure and bless it simultaneously.

Nepal is often described as the Switzerland of Asia. Although it is a small country, it is a very wonderful and unique country. Nepal is a great country that has a rich culture and excellent history. It is a landlocked country that lies between the giant nations India and China.

Nepal is a country of diversity in every aspect. It has beautiful landscapes, beautiful and unique cultures, multiple ethnic and religious groups, breathtaking trekking trails, and incredibly hospitable people. One can observe the difference in culture, landscapes, and language in a very short distance in this country. But there are certain things that one can only see or experience in Nepal.

Nepal has a diverse geography, including fertile plains, subalpine forested hills, and eight of the world’s ten tallest mountains, including Mount Everest, the highest point on earth. Nepal is the home to the world’s highest peak, Mount Everest, also known as Sagarmatha.

Culture and Languages

Nepalese culture represents a fusion of indo Aryan and Tibeto-Mongolian influences resulting from a long history of migration, conquest, and trade. There are 126 castes in Nepal. It is a multi-religious country globally, so different ethnic groups live with their way of religious practice, lifestyle, language, culture, and tradition. Nepal has several religions that live in peace and harmony.

Unique Flag

.The first thing you will notice about Nepal that’s different from the rest of the world is its flag. Unlike every other country flag, it’s not square-shaped. The flag of Nepal is triangular shaped with a combination of two pennons.

The body of the flag of crimson red with a blue border and the sun and moon are of white color. Likewise, it’s only the unique flag of the world, and many travelers know about this.

Precious Herbs and Cash Crops

.Yarsagumba is a unique herb. It is also termed as caterpillar fungus, is the stuff found in the far western Himalayan region of Nepal. Also, it is called physical gold because of its benefits and price. Its caterpillar fungus hybrid forms when parasitic mushroom spores infect and mummify a moth larva living in the soil; fungus later develops sprouts from the dead caterpillar to the host’s head.

It has been used in traditional Chinese medicine for more than 2000 years, making it cost relatively high and only found in some specific times when the snow melts.

Marijuana plants grow in gardens, on the side of the road, in ditches, on the mountainside, pretty much everywhere in Nepal. This plant is also used as medicine.

Different Calendar

One of the most unique and amazing things about Nepal is its official calendar. Unlike other countries, Nepal does not follow the Georgian calendar as its official calendar.

The Nepalese and Nepalese governments follow the Bikram Sambhat calendar is unique and specific to Nepal. Nepalese has their public holiday on Saturday, unlike the rest of the world, where the public holiday is Sunday. Sunday is the first day of the week in Nepal.

Nepali is the home to the only living goddess called “kumari” in the world. It is believed that the goddess taleju is embodied in a prepubescent girl named kumari, or living goddess by the Newari people of Kathmandu valley.

Most Dangerous Airport in the world

The most dangerous airport in the world, Lukla airport in Nepal, serves as the entry airport to Mt Everest’s visitors. The thing that makes this airport quite tricky and dangerous to land upon is its construction in between mountains, and the short length of the runway is breathtaking and amazing.

Full of Adventure supported by the spiritual vibe

Nepal is a surprisingly diverse country that attracts visitors for many reasons. Some are lured by the call of mountains and seeking to climb or trek in the Himalayas. Others are intrigued by the culture and the famous city of Kathmandu, yet others come hoping to find some spiritual awakening.

Nepal can be an adrenaline adventure, a culture eye opener, a life changing experience, or all of the above. Our religious heritage refers to valuable objects, and qualities such as historic buildings and cultural traditions passed down from the previous generation to the present age. Nepal’s startling beauty is at its best in Pokhara, which has been the subject of many travel writers.

Its pristine air, the spectacular backdrop of the snowy peak of Annapurna range, and serene Phewa, Begnas, and Rupa lakes make this destination ‘the jewel of the Himalaya.’

Nepal is home to 10 UNESCO world heritage sites, including seven in Kathmandu valley, Lumbini, the birthplace of Buddha, Chitwan National Park, and Sagarmatha National Park. The heritage sites have been nominated based on their cultural and natural value.

This is a unique country with elevation starting from as low as 70m and going to the highest 8848 meters. Mount Everest alone is enough to make the country in the entire world.
