For our latest article, we’ve talked with three esteemed experts about unique travel tips to consider before your next trip. They provide some fun and interesting insight that you should consider along the way as a traveler to make your next trip the BEST ONE YET!
GoPro Your Journey
Our first piece of advice comes from Jakob Staudal, Founder of Headless Nomad and an avid traveler who catalogs his knowledge on his fast-growing website.
“I have always been an avid photographer and make sure to take pictures wherever I go on my cellphone, digital camera, as well as a film camera. I love having these photographic memories to refer back to and I take a ton of them along the way, to the point where my fellow travelers get tired of waiting for me while I set up and get the shot I want.

However, I stumbled upon a GoPro and it completely changed how I catalog my travels. I always have a GoPro with me now and I video most of my hikes, drives, bike rides, and so much more. It can give you a beautiful sense of the area you are in and provides more context to the trip you’ve taken.
When I’m planning my next trip or considering going back to some areas, I often refer back to my GoPro footage and it provides me with more information about that specific trip. It can also be great content to share on social media and online.”
In short: GoPro is a small camera that can take long videos and even withstand severe elements, like underwater and during storms. We loved this recommendation and agree with this suggestion for your next adventure!
Invest in Portable Chargers
Our second trip is something we have had to suffer through, so we connected personally with it as we read it. Bryan Mullennix, Owner of Feeling Vegas, shares an important tip below.
“Our mobile devices are so important in today’s world and I can’t stress enough how important it is to have them fully charged and connected at all times. They are vital to your travel plans, as well as to keeping you safe along the way, especially if you are in new places you aren’t familiar with.
For example, if you are in Las Vegas (a place I write about so often) without a cell phone, it can be difficult to find your way around, find transportation to get back to where you are going, and even stay connected with friends.
Find a portable charger that you can trust and have it ready to go at all times. When you plug your phone in at night, you should plug in your portable charger so it is useful the next day as you travel around a new place.”
In short: It can be dangerous to let your mobile device run out of batteries as you travel. Don’t let that happen by bringing along a portable charger that can keep your device charged and capable.
Find Free Activities, but Find Luxury Things For When You Do Spend Money
We wrap up this piece with a lighter topic when it comes to traveling, and it’s one we agree with. It’s important to be smart with your money while traveling and we agree with finding free (or affordable) activities to do as you adventure around the world.
However, some memorable activities do cost money and can be worth it. Giulia Di Leo is an executive in the leisure travel industry with Your Boat Holiday and shared her thoughts.

“If you are in a new place, I agree with the idea of finding free and cheap activities to spend your time and understand the culture. However, I believe that if you spend money on something, you should invest fully in doing something unique, memorable, and luxurious. Save your money and spend it appropriately as you travel.
If you are in a place and see something insanely unique (and fun) that you want to do, I believe you should tighten your budget in other places and do it. It could be the greatest experience of your life!”
In short: Being smart with your money is an obvious factor when traveling, but sometimes it costs money for a once-in-a-lifetime experience. You know the saying, ‘you have to spend money to make money? Well, you sometimes have to spend money to make memories!
