8. Go places:
You can create deeper memories of the subject by learning in a richer environment that offers more visual clues and keys. In an experiment by learning experts, two groups of students were given random words to memorize. One group changed the classroom while studying. The other group did not bring any change to the learning environment. The group studied was in two different rooms- one was small and windowless and the other was big and bright. The ones who studied in the brighter big room were able to remember or recall the words 40% more than the group who studied in the smaller room.
Thus it was then proved that when you select a better place for the studying and learning procedure, you can easily recall things. So next time you study, get a better place which can open up the mental horizon. Yes, people are different and their choices can be different. Select and own nature and learn new things every day.
9. Take fun seriously:
Whatever it is, take a fun path to study and practice. Modern learning science believes that positive emotions are necessary and important to increase growth potential. You can either treat yourself after every right answer you get or maybe take a break to listen to your favorite music after you complete your chapters. What I do is finish the chapters first and then take the time to eat my favorite food along with some good music. I do not tend to eat and play music while I study because I cannot multitask and do things simultaneously. So choose your favorite treat and find a good time to study.
10. Space your studies:
To remember things for the longest time, repeat the material in spaced intervals. The best example can be taken for facts and example learning. The best way to remember such words and meanings is to review them 1 or 2 days after the initiation of the learning materials and then again 1 week later and a month after that. Doing so will help to take the learned material into long-term memory and acquire it when needed. Don’t freak out and learn everything at once, make a habit of studying for at least an hour a day. This will make a big difference for yourself and your grades.
11. Read and recite:
When you read and recite, you learn more and remember better. If you have let’s say only 1 hour to prepare a speech or recite a poem, you should take 20 minutes to learn the text written and 40 minutes reciting it. This 1 is to 3 ratios has been proven to increase the power of the brain to remember things in a better way. When giving a speech, the proportion has been the best and most effective way. Keep a glass of water and sip it whenever you lose it. So next time you present something just read and recite and everything will work out as fine as it will.

12. Instant self-test
After you study and complete the syllabus or the chapters, finish up with a quick test. Immediate recall in form of a test or summary of what you have learned can increase retention by 30%. Because it is much harder for the brain to reflect than to just read. But it needs extra effort to create a trace on your brain that can be recalled when needed. When you take a self-test, you can analyze yourself before anybody else and even can correct it early. You can know where you have lacked the learning material and start revising it again until you get it right and done.
13. Excite yourself:
Learning happens inside your brain when new information connects with existing information. When we are excited or enthusiastic, the brain starts to process much better. As soon as we expect something good to happen, the brain releases its happiness chemicals- dopamine and endorphin. These can help to connect new and existing information and that’s what we call learning. But it does not mean that you will be learning as soon as you are happy. For example shopping. Shopping will produce the same chemical but won’t help to be happy for a long time because it produces dopamine for just 12 seconds. After you are done with shopping, dopamine is not produced and thus there won’t be any excitement levels.

14. Don’t force it:
Motivation is like hunger. You cannot forcefully get motivated just like you can’t tell others to eat forcefully or be hungry when you tell them so. So if you are not hungry yet, do not worry at all. Do something else and relax. When you are not “in the mood” or “do not have that studying time” you just should not force yourself just because others are studying. Until and unless you get that rush in your mind, nothing will be imported into your brain. So indulge yourself in doing things other than studying. And make sure you keep that goal in your mind and work for it at the end of the day.
