Stop Animal Sacrifice in Gadhimai Festival of Nepal

Animals are not to sacrifice in honor of the goddess Gadhimai. Nepal’s Government should stop this inhumanity. See this video and say stop in the comment box. We are just doing that from the public. We can force to Government of Nepal to stop more than 250,000 animal sacrifices every five years in this so-called festival.

Stop Animal Sacrifice in the Gadhimai Festival of Nepal

The temple of Gadhi Mai is located in the village of Bariyarpur in the district of Bara. This temple is the most famous in the whole Terai belt. Moreover, it is equally famous both in Nepal and India. This goddess was the favorite goddess of Karnat kings. The temple of Tale) u in Kathmandu is considered to be the replica of the temple of Gadhi Mai. Karnat kings brought this goddess from Simraungadh to the Kathmandu valley when they compromised with the Malla kings of the valley. So, she is called Rajgadhi Mai because she was the royal goddess. She is worshipped grandly after every five years by devotees from different parts of Nepal and India. Thousands of water buffalos are sacrificed at the altar of this deity. A colorful grand fair is held to mark this auspicious occasion. It is considered one of the biggest folk fairs in South Asia.

People believe that goddess Gadhimai is pleased and happy when the devotees kill animals in this festival. That is a wrong belief. Hindu goddess Gadhimai is the goddess of power.
