Spirit Dog Training Reactivity Reviews

I took their reactivity course, and it was well worth the money. Deconditioning your dog is not a quick process, and you have to be dedicated and consistent, but it has saved my life. My dog used to lunge and bite every dog she saw, but now she can walk down the street happily and even walk by some dogs without reacting. She is much happier and more relaxed now. We also worked on how she reacted to cars and trucks, and now she doesn’t bark at them or chase them. So glad I took a chance that was worth 100 times what I paid for it. — November 12, 2022.

I like this stuff a lot! I love how useful, easy to understand, and fun Instagram’s content is. It’s great how consistent and how different it is. The information is great. All in all, a wonderful story!

I’ve learned a lot from this class. I already knew that they had plans. I was also used to giving food and treats. The cues and pulling on the leash were new, and I’m guilty of pulling on the leash to get the dog to do what I want. I’ve only had her for three days, so I’ll make that right. We are doing well with potty training. I have a little Auggie. Her age is 9 weeks. I appreciate it. It was well worth what I paid.

4. What Writer learned from SpiritDog Training

With three dogs of my own, I’m always looking for new ways to learn about how dogs act and how to train them. I joined the SpiritDog Masterclass so I could take all the training courses.

My dogs aren’t perfect, no dog is. Ginger is aggressive with resources, Bear pulls on the leash like a madman, and Thunder doesn’t like to wait his turn during training sessions.

I’m taking the Tackling Reactivity course right now, and it’s great. Steffi, who made SpiritDog, is the teacher for this class.

Most of the lessons have videos of Steffi talking about and showing how to do the steps and strategies. She tries to be clear and uses pictures and videos when they are helpful. She explains in a way that is easy to understand what the difference is between classical conditioning and operant conditioning. The videos are short, but they are full of useful steps and information. And there are PDFs for many of the lessons.

As I write this, 46,344 people are signed up for this class. I think that shows how good the course is.

I also took our dog Thunder through the Taking Turns course. You should know that your dog won’t change overnight. It takes work and practice. I hope that Thunder will soon be able to chill out while other dogs are being trained in the same room.

SpiritDog Training is my favorite. She gives good advice and stays in touch with people all the time. She’ll answer your questions. Her video lessons are easy to understand. She always looks for new tips and ideas that can help. She always encourages responses or questions. Also, her classes are cheap.

Everything You Always Wanted to Know About Dogs

A dog is the only pet that can compare to it. You can’t get loyalty and friendship from any other animal like you can from a dog. That’s why you should pay extra attention to them. Here are some tips that will help you make sure your dog has a good life.

Never hit your dog. There are better ways to train a dog that doesn’t involve hurting it. To prepare a dog well, you should reward good behavior with treats and attention. Instead of hitting an animal when it does something wrong, you should tell it in a firm voice that you don’t like it.

If you want your dog to live a long and healthy life, you need to keep it busy. It’s not that hard to give him or her one. Just make sure you walk your dog every day and buy some toys that you and your pet can play with together.

Like you, your dog has teeth, so it makes sense that he needs good dental care. Buy a dog toothbrush and use it often to clean his teeth. It’s not enough to just let the vet do it at his regular checkups. You can also buy treats for your pet that are made to help with its teeth.

Make your dog’s food from scratch if you want to give him the healthiest diet and do something good for the earth. You can buy locally grown organic ingredients to make sure he gets all the proteins, carbs, and fats he needs without any added preservatives. This will also cut down on waste from packaging.

Use your house or yard to train your dog. It’s never a good idea to try to train your pet when a lot of people are around. They will get distracted, and even the most straightforward commands will be hard to follow.

Talk to your vet about what you should give your dog to eat. In some cases, your pet may get sick if it eats certain brands of food. When it comes to your pet’s food, you should always be careful.

Talk to your vet to find out how much you’ll need to feed your dog every day. It may not be enough to just read the label on the dog food package; your dog may have special needs. Talk to your vet about what will work best for your dog.

If you have more than one pet, avoid problems with jealousy. Problems can happen, especially if you bring a young dog into a home with an older dog. Consider how patient and active your older dog is, and don’t hurt his feelings by giving all your attention to the new dog.

Dogs like to eat grass and other plants. This might not be a big deal when you’re outside, but if you have houseplants inside, they’re probably toxic to dogs. Before you bring a dog into your home, make sure all your houseplants are out of reach of a dog who might be tempted by a green tasty treat.

If your dog does something you don’t like, don’t just tell it “no.” No doesn’t tell your dog what you want him or her to do. If your dog is jumping, instead of telling it “no,” try to get it to sit or lie down. By doing this, you show your dog what to do.

Bringing your dog home is all about timing. Try to show him around his new home on the weekend or when you have a few days off. Take the time to get to know each other. This will make him much more comfortable when he has to spend time alone in the house. Also, make sure your kids don’t overwhelm him at first if you have them. If you already have other pets in the house, you should be even more careful when introducing the new one.

Feed your dog dry dog food of the highest quality. This kind of dog food makes sure that your dog gets all of the important nutrients it needs. Making sure they get the right food helps them live longer and lowers their risk of being overweight, malnourished, having problems with their bones or muscles, and many other conditions.

Do not worry if you just got a new puppy and it starts chewing things right away. This could mean that your puppy is getting new teeth. If you don’t want your puppy to chew on your things, make sure he has plenty of chew toys of his own.

Accept that your dog is getting older and learning to meet his changing needs. Your older dog may need to change what he eats, get more rest, and not be as active as he used to be. This doesn’t mean he should be put in a corner to die. Adjust to his needs and make sure he enjoys his golden years!

Control your voice to control your dog. When he is good, use a high-pitched voice and tell him how great he is. When he does something wrong, use a very low, harsh voice to show that you don’t like it. Keeping to this rule will help him learn faster, which will make training him easier for both you and him.

Make time for your dog. You probably know that your dog is always there for you, so it’s time to give back. You could take the dog for a walk, or you could just set aside some time to rub his belly. Don’t forget to do something special with your dog, and he will appreciate it.

When you feed your dog, make sure you use a brand that is trusted and has enough nutrition. This is important because some dog foods have too much filler in them, which is not good. You want to make sure your dog gets all the vitamins and minerals it needs to stay healthy.

Most people know that dogs are the best pets out there. We should love these social animals. And if you have one, he should get the best from you. Use the tips here to make sure you’re doing everything you can to give your dog a happy life.

A Good Training Plan That Will Help All Dogs

Enjoy it if your dog is naturally good. But most dog owners will be able to use the tips and advice in this article to their advantage. Use the tips below to help your dog become a well-behaved member of the family.

Don’t talk to or touch your dog when you are mad or upset. Just put your dog up and give yourself a break. When you come back, training will go much more smoothly. You’ll all be rested, have a fresh mind, and be ready to try that training task that seems impossible again.

You shouldn’t make your training sessions last too long. At first, try not to go longer than fifteen minutes. Even if your dog is used to training, you shouldn’t spend more than 20 minutes on basic training. If your dog seems to be getting bored, it’s time to stop for the day. If you try to push against it. You’ll get angry, and then things will get worse. When you’re winning, it’s better to stop.

Train your dog every day, even if it’s just for a few minutes. Dogs do well when they can try out what they’re learning and what they’ve already learned. At least 15 minutes a day of practicing commands your dog already knows will keep him or her in shape.

You have to be consistent if you want to teach your dog anything. This means you should always give the same command and always reward or punish your dog in the same way. This will make it much easier for your dog to understand certain ideas than if you used a more complicated and varied way to talk to him.

Use your dog’s name as often as possible to get his attention. When you first get a dog, it’s important to call it by name a lot. This will help the dog remember it and be more likely to come when you call. Give your dog a name that isn’t too long and doesn’t sound too much like other words.

Find a quiet place to train your dog to do something when you want him to do it. Dogs are easily distracted by everything in their environment. So, do the first training in a quiet room to keep your dog’s attention on the task. This will help your dog learn faster.

Make sure your dog gets some exercise every day. This is a great tip for training your dog. Not only is exercise good for your dog’s health, but it also helps him or her interact with people and other dogs. Getting your dog out for a walk every day is important for socialization.

A good tip for training your dog is to learn as much as you can about the breed of dog you have. Dogs aren’t all the same. Each breed of dog has its special qualities, and it’s important to know what your dog needs. Some dogs, for example, can’t stand being in hot places.

It’s important to work on your pet’s recall. Your dog should always come back to you, no matter where they are. Build up this behavior step by step, and your dog will obey you even when other things are going on. Training your dog to come when called can take time, but it is important and could save your dog’s life. In this area, don’t skimp on training.

Your dog needs you to tell him when he is right and when he is wrong. If your dog does something wrong and you laugh at him or pet him, he is likely to keep doing it over and over again. This will get in the way of your training schedule and make you angry. Even if your dog does something funny, you should always correct bad behavior with a firm voice.

Offer your dog interesting things to do instead of the things you don’t want him to chew on. Any pet store or department store will have a huge selection of chew toys for your dog or cat. Put “his” toys in a basket and keep them full of fun things to play with. He should learn to like his toys more than yours.

Feed your dog twice a day, or however many times your vet tells you to, and take the food away after 15 minutes. Ask your dog to sit or lay down before giving them a treat so they know they have to work for them. When your pet knows that you are the one who feeds it and that treats don’t come for free, it sees you as the boss.

Walk your dog with a loose leash. Don’t hold the leash tight when you’re walking your dog. Even if the dog isn’t already pulling on the leash, this can teach it to do so. Dogs have a natural response to pressure that is the same as the one that sled dog teams use.

When starting to train a dog, one of the most important things to remember is to choose the words you will use to tell the dog what to do with care. By giving each command a different word, the dog will be better able to understand what it needs to do.

If you’re tired of giving your dog the same commands over and over, try changing up an old behavior. Teach your dog to give you either paw when you ask for it. There are a few ways to teach this, but one is to pick up the paw that goes with the hand and treat and praise it. When your dog gets the idea, give him a treat and give him praise when he raises the right paw.

Be sure to take the time to teach your dog his name right away. You will use his name in all of your training from now on. Use his name when you feed him and call him when it’s time to go for a walk or play. Use his name at least twenty times a day, and never punish him for coming when you call him.

Do not freak out if your dog is being bad right now. Most dogs can be trained if you know what to do and take your time. Use these tips to get your dog to do great things.

Advice On How To Properly Train Your Dog

It’s important that when you walk your dog, your dog follows your lead and doesn’t pull you down the sidewalk. The article below has important training tips for every dog owner.

When trying to fix a dog’s bad behavior, any owner should think about what the dog eats. Like people, dogs become what they eat. If their diet isn’t healthy, they may have problems inside and outside of their bodies. If you make sure your dog is eating well, he will likely act better.

Consistency is the key to training a dog well. Make sure that when it comes to training, everyone in your family uses the same commands and stays on the same page. You won’t get confused, your dog will understand your commands better, and it will take you less time to reach your training goals.

Dogs learn by getting treats and praise. Reward your dog with your voice when it does something you like and want to teach it to do it on command. Take the dog who always brings his owner his slippers, even when he doesn’t want to. The owner should say “slippers” or whatever word they chose as a command for that behavior.

Make sure that when you train your dog, you only say the command word once. It’s important not to say the same thing over and over because your pet will start to expect you to say the same things over and over. You want your dog to do what you say the moment you say it.

One of the most important parts of training any pet is to do things over and over again. It doesn’t work to show your dog how to behave only once. It’s important to keep repeating ideas, and in time, your dog will be much more responsive.

Before getting a new dog for your family, it’s a good idea to learn about the different breeds. This will help you find some that are good for you and your lifestyle, so the dog can be a part of your family for a long time.

Train your dog as soon as you can. Many people think that very young puppies can’t learn anything yet. In reality, puppies as young as six weeks old can start learning the basics of training, and starting early makes sure that your puppy has a strong base for learning more advanced skills later on.

Your dog might be bored if it is digging up your yard. Boredom is the main reason why dogs do things they shouldn’t. Just because you put them in the backyard doesn’t mean they’re getting exercise. Try to keep them busy by taking them for long walks or, if you have to stay home, playing a long game of fetch with them. Your dog will be so tired that he or she won’t want to dig.

Give your dog a lot of good things to do. Discipline isn’t just about punishing kids when they do something wrong. You should make sure to show a lot of love and praise when someone does something good. It will help your dog learn to trust its trainers and know when it is doing the right thing.

If you tell your dog what it did wrong in a short, sharp, and clear way, it will get the point. Too often, people tell their dogs what they did wrong in long, complicated sentences that leave the dog completely confused. Be short and firm, and always say the same thing when they do something wrong.

Training a dog is something that needs to be done often. When trying to teach a dog a new trick, you have to do it over and over again. Showing the dog the right thing to do or saying the command word often, will help the dog learn it. The dog will learn new things faster because of the repetition.

One great way to train your dog is to tell it when it does something right. When your dog does something wrong, it’s easy to yell at them and tell them “no.” It’s important to tell your dog when they’re doing what you want because that reinforces good behavior.

Stop bad behavior right away. Many dog owners make the mistake of letting their dog’s bad behavior go unchecked until it becomes a problem. To train a dog well, you have to be able to spot bad behavior right away and correct it. Once a problem has gotten too big, it is harder to fix it.

It’s important to be happy and upbeat when you’re training your dog. Instead of punishing your dog for what he has done wrong, you should always praise him for what he has done right. The best way to train your dog is not to hurt it. When you beat or hurt your dog, you teach it to be afraid of you.

Dogs with separation anxiety will feel better if they get love from people who aren’t their favorite. In other words, they should pay less attention to their favorite person. You should only say hello to the dog when she is quiet and calm. Other people in the house should take her out and help with training so she can get to know and feel comfortable with other people.

Make your house puppy-proof so that your puppy doesn’t turn your favorite things into his favorite chew toys. Take things out of the area where you keep your puppy, like shoes. You can buy a spray that tastes bitter and keeps your puppy from chewing on electrical cords at many pet stores. Don’t forget that most puppies will get past this stage.

If your dogs are young, big, and tough, and they tear through beds as they grow on trees, look for cheaper options. Use your imagination to think of things you don’t mind destroying, like sofa cushions, comforters from the thrift store or garage sales, old pillows, and other things. Your dog’s bed-destroying phase is probably just a phase, and it’s not worth getting upset about it and spending a lot of money on dog beds.

If you don’t know how to train your dog well, it will be hard to get it to behave. The tips in the above article should give you everything you need to train your dog well so that he or she can be a great addition to your family.
