Every last month of the year according to the Nepali calendar, the deity is placed in a chariot (also known as Rath) and the chariot is paraded around Kathmandu.This festival Seto Machhendranath is known as Jana Baha Dyah Jatra. The deity Seto Machhendranath is bathed and repainted every year. There is a belief for bathing the deity i.e. it symbolizes the changes occurring throughout our lives.
