In England, an old tradition is visiting the seaside and having “a grand old time”. Ever since the Victorian era, there have been generations of families wanting to visit the sea and sit down on the sand with the sun (hopefully!) beating down on their faces.

One of the most popular places that are associated with the seaside holiday in the UK is Blackpool. Famous for the mighty Tangerines who attract new betting offers to tourists each weekend it does have everything to it. So, what makes Blackpool so popular to this day and makes families spend their holidays by the Irish Sea?
Fish and Chips
When you visit the seaside it is almost law to have fish and chips; enjoyed by locals as well as tourists. With fish freshly available by the coast, the meal is enjoyed by thousands of Britons each year and even more so when they are in Blackpool! With over 10 thousand fish and chip shops in the UK, Blackpool often has at least one nomination in the “top ten lists” that many companies publish.
Arcades
Blackpool is often called the Las Vegas of England with a whole promenade filled with arcades and amusements you can understand why it gets the name. The arcades are filled with slot machines, games, and bingo with the whole family wanting to experience the loud noises, and lights, and hope of winning tickets or even better money.
Blackpool Tower
Families need entertainment on their holiday and climbing to the top of Blackpool Tower provides much of that. Standing at 158m tall it dominates the skyline of Blackpool and is easily identified by many people as they approach the town by car or on train. The Tower offers a great view of the town, the sea, the comedy carpet, and much more especially as you look down walking over the “Walk of Faith”.
The Pleasure Beach
What could be more fun by the seaside than a trip to the fair? Well, Blackpool Pleasure Beach is no longer the fairground it was but more of a theme park and is right by the seaside for people to enjoy. With 11 roller-coasters readily available and many more attractions inside, it is a staple that you visit the Pleasure Beach even if it is for a packet of hot doughnuts!
The beach
You could not come to the seaside and not visit the beach itself! Blackpool has one of the cleanest beaches in the UK and the beach extends over 7 miles long. There is a vast amount of space on the beach to play, sit or even ride a donkey. Blackpool is beautiful when the weather is right and there can be no better place in the UK to top up your tan.
Three piers
Like many seaside towns, Blackpool has piers that are filled with entertainment, food, and drink. The three piers differ from one another. South Pier is filled with family fun entertainment including a wild mouse ride, Central Pier is home to a giant Ferris wheel and North Pier takes on a more traditional standpoint. However, each pier offers so much charm and can transport people to a different world.
