- VRAT DHOKLA
A delicious delicacy that is sure to win the hearts of your guests is easy, simple and not at all sophisticated to make. Just gather the following ingredients and you are ready to follow the steps to make this delicious vrat recipe-
3/4 cup samwatke chawal
1 cup sour yogurt
1 tsp ginger paste
Green chilies paste to taste
1 tsp rock salt
2 tsp oil
2 whole dry red peppers
6-7 curry leaves
1 tsp cumin seeds
Grated coconut and fresh coriander for garnish

First of all, you have to roast the rice in a pan very lightly and do not let it brown. Then, prepare the batter by mixing rice, rock salt, chili paste, ginger paste, and yogurt. You will then have to leave the mixture to ferment overnight. After doing that, grease a tin with little ghee and transfer the batter into it. Then, place the tin into the steamer and let cook for 20 minutes. Test if it is done and then let it cool. Voila! Your vratdhokala is ready to be eaten and enjoyed!
- VRAT DAHI GUJIYA
This flavor-packed dahigujiya is a healthy option for your vrat during MahaShivratri. It makes your heart warm while eating it and actually is really very easy to make. You will surely love this deliciousness. To prepare it, you have will be needing the following ingredients-

For gujiya, you will need-

1 cup Sama Rice
2 cup Water
1/4-1/2 cup Arrowroot Flour
Salt to taste (rock salt)
1 teaspoon Red chili powder
For filling, you need-
1/2 cup Shredded Coconut
Handful of Sliced almonds
3 tablespoon Raisins
For toppings, you need-
1 cup Beaten Curd (yogurt)
3/4 cup Vratki Green chutney
The first step is to measure Sama rice. Then, wash and add sama rice to a pressure cooker. After that cook for 3 whistles. Drain any excess water. Then, transfer rice to a bowl. Mix in with all the other ingredients listed under for gujiya. Make a soft dough. In a bowl combine all the ingredients listed under ‘For filling’. Mix it well and in the meanwhile, flatten the gujiya dough. Place a teaspoon of filing in the center and now fold over the other end and seal gujiya from all the sides. do again this process with left over dough and form gujiyas.

For non-fried version, make small balls out of the dough. Fill them just like gujiya and secure the edges. Heat the pan, place round balls in each mold. Cook until crispy and light brown in color. For the next step, beat curd and season with salt and red chili powder. Arrange gujiya on a plate. Decorate with curd on top, pour green chutney and enjoy. Repeat the same with round gujiyas. Enjoy your gujiyas!
- INSTANT RABDI
Instant rabdi is a delicious, fresh food recipe that delights everyone. It is also suitable as a food option for those who have vrat during MahaShivratri. The following ingredients are required-

Fresh cream – 1cup
Khoya/Mawa (grated) – ½ cup
Bread crumbs (fine) – ¼ cup
Milk – ¼ cup ½ cup
Sugar – 3 to 4 tsp
Saffron strands – few (soaked in 1 tbsp warm milk)
Cardamom powder – a pinch
Dry fruits (as per choice) – to garnish
Now the first step is to take a thick bottomed pan, pour cream and start heating on a low flame. Keep moving the cream. As soon as you see the cream is about to boil, add the khoya and mix well. Then after that, add the bread crumbs while stirring continuously. The bread crumb is used to thicken the mixture. Now add the sugar and saffron dissolved in milk. The mixture starts getting thick, just then add milk.When the mixture boils, add a pinch of cardamom powder, mix well and switch off the flame. Then you have to let it cool down, chill, garnish with dry fruits and serve. Enjoy!

- COCONUT LADOO
This ladoo is simple and easy to make. You have to give this a try this MahaShivaratri. This is suitable to eat during your vrat as well. This is surely going to satisfy the sweet tooth having vrat during the auspicious occasion of MahaShivaratri. The following ingredients are required-
1 1/2 cup desiccated coconut
1Tbsp ghee
1 cup condensed milk
2 Tbsp khoya
10-15 cashews and almonds

Now, first take a pan, add grated coconut and toast them slightly. You will have to keep stirring it continuously else it might burn.While keeping it in the heat, add condensed milk to the roasted coconut and mix them well. Then after doing so, add khoya into it and mix them well. Keep it on the heat and mix it till the mixture starts leaving the sides of the pan.Once it starts leaving the sides to take it off the heat.After you are satisfied, start to fry some cashew nuts and almonds in ghee.Roll the mixture into small rounds place some dry fruits into these rounds and then roll them into the shape of small balls.Rolls these balls over some desiccated coconut and the coconut ladoos are ready to be served! - MANGO LASSI
A chilled, iced mango lassi is everybody’s favorite. It can also be taken as a refreshment drink during vrat of MahaShivratri. 125 ml curd
200 ml iced water
8 ice cubes
1 chopped mango
1 Tbsp sugar
A pinch dried mint
The simplest way to make a delicious mango lassi is simply whipping all the above-mentioned ingredients in a blender. Then, keep the mixture in a freezer and serving it chilled in a tall glass.
