1. Udit Narayan Jha

The playback singer of the Nepali and Indian movie industry is known as Udit Narayan Jha. he was born in the Zaatari district on 1st December 1995. He has done his schooling at jageshwar High School, Kunmauli, Supaul, Bihar. And he obtained his intermediate degree from Ratna Rajya Laxmi Campus, Kathmandu.

His dad’s name was Harekrishna Jha he was a rancher and his mom was Bhuvneshwari Devi who was a society artist. His mom urged him to seek after music as a profession. He began his career in the 1970s as a Maithili folk singer for Radio Nepal.

In the beginning, he sang a folk song in Maithili and Nepali. Spending 8 years in the Nepali music industry and singing many modern Nepali songs, Narayan moved to Bombay on a musical scholarship for Nepalese from Indian Embassy in Nepal to study classical music at Bhartiya  Vidya Bhavan. After taking musical training he started his career in Bollywood in 1980. He was noted by music director Rajesh Roshan who asked Narayan to playback singing in the movie Unees-Bees.

After that Narayan sang for several other movies including bade dil wale in 1983 with senior singer lata Mangeshkar which was composed by senior music director R D Burman. Since then he has sung many songs and become very popular in the Bollywood industry as a playback singer.

Narayan also has performed in many stage shows and reality shows. He has sung at many award functions too. He also got the opportunity to become the judge in Indian idol too. This singer has gained name and fame in the music industry of Bollywood and Kollywood. He moved from Nepal to India and become a very successful playback singer.

This amazing singer has married Deepa Narayan Jha and has a son, known as Aditya Narayan Jha. This Jha family is very successful in the music industry and has gained a lot of name and fame too. 2. Manisha Koirala

The beautifully stunning and talented actress is Manisha Koirala. The Nepali daughter Manisha Koirala belongs to one of the reputed families of Nepal Koirala families. She was born on 16th August 1970 in Kathmandu Nepal. Her father was Prakash Koirala who was a politician and a former minister of the environment, whereas her mother Sushma Koirala was a homemaker. Well, Koirala belongs to a highly reputed family.

She spent her childhood in India and lived in Delhi alone which made her strong and independent too. While living in Delhi she took a few modeling assignments and did them successfully. Later she decided to focus on acting and she moved to Mumbai for a film role in 2004.  

She has also taken a diploma in filmmaking from new york city.  This actress debuted in a Nepali movie pheri bhetaula which was released in early 1989, whereas her first Hindi movie was saudhaghar by Subash Ghai in 1991. After that, she did many movies from 1992-1993 which did not take her career forward.

Well, her performance in the movie Bombay has taken a milestone in her career which owns her the Filmfare award for the best Tamil actress and best critic award. Similarly, she has done many movies in Bollywood Tamil, and so on. After taking a filmmaking course she made a movie paisa vasool in 2004 where she starred with Sushmita sen and was considered as first chick flick movie in the industry.

3. Sunil Thapa:

The Nepali actor who appeared mostly as a negative character in the Nepali movie is Sunil Thapa. Sunil Thapa was born on 19th May 1957 and is currently 60 years. He is also known by other names like Ratey Kaila, or Sher Singh. Sunil Thapa started his acting career in the Bollywood movie Ek Duje ke Liye, whereas he started his modeling career in 1974 in Bombay with Binnies and Mafatlal Fabrics.

In his early days besides modeling and acting, he was also a good sportsman.  Thapa has done many movies in the Kollywood industry and has won the motion picture awards 2 times and many other awards too. Thapa has done more than six Hindi movies and many more movies in Nepal too.

One of the very successful actors for a negative role is a multi-talented one. He has done the movie in Tamil too. Apart from being a negative character in the movie, he has also done many other supporting characters.

4. Aditya Narayan Jha

The other talented singer and actor in Bollywood are Aditya Narayan Jha, who is the son of great playback singer Udit Narayan Jha and Deepa Jha. He was born in Mumbai India on 6th August 1987. Aditya Narayan Jha is a Playback singer like his father Udit Narayan Jha. Even if he is a Bollywood actor, television host, composer, and singer his origin is Nepal, since his father belongs to Nepal.

He is a popular singer of this generation and an actor too. Well, his family is inclined to the music industry. His father and mother are both playback singers. Similarly, his grandfather and grandmother are also a singer. This young singer and actor finished his tutoring at Utpal Shanghvi school in 2003 and did his junior college at Mitthibai college of commerce.

Aditya Narayan started his vocation as an artist at an exceptionally youthful age: he was found by Kalyanji Virji Shah when he sang at his fourth birthday festivity. She married Sudhanshu Joshi in 2016 in one program in USA Virginia.

Usha model debuted in the movie karma. Her second movie Muna Madan made her popular and the movie was nominated for the oscar. She has done about 40 movies in the Kollywood industry. Similarly, she has done 8 television series, 36 music videos, and over a dozen of commercial films.

10. Shristi Shrestha

Shristi Shrestha was born in Narayangarh, Chitwan, Nepal on 18 July 1989. She is well known as a Nepali actress, model, and beauty pageant titleholder. She represented her hometown of Chitwan during Miss Nepal 2012. She was the winner of Miss Nepal 2012.

She also represented Nepal in Miss World 2012 which was held in Inner Mongolia, China on 18 August 2012. She is the first Miss Nepal to reach to quarter-finals or 20th place of the Miss World. She also has been placed as Top 10 Dancers in Miss World held in 2012.

Some of the titles she won were Miss Chitwan 2012, Miss Nepal World 2012, Miss World 2012 Quarter Finalist (20th place), Top 10 Beach Beauty Miss world 2012, Top 10 Multimedia Awards Miss World 2012, and Top 10 Dancers Miss World.

She acted in the Nepali movie Gajalu with Anmol K.C. in the role of Kumari named Sujata Shakya which was released in 2016. She also worked on a Nepali music video titled Sadhana Sadhana in which songs were sung by Devika Bandhana in 2015. She also did a theater drama titled Hamlet in the role of Ophelia in the year 2015/2016. The director of this drama was renowned person Gregory Thompson and Bimal Subedi. This drama was played for a month in the ‘Theatre Village in Kathmandu, Nepal.

11. Karishma Manandhar

Karishma Manandhar was born Karishma K.C. in 1971. She was raised in Jharuarashi, Lalitpur. Her family was not rich so she spent her childhood in poverty and also did not have good experiences. Karishma Manandhar is a Nepali actress. She entered the glamorous film industry of Nepal with her debut movie ‘Santana’ in 2042 B.S. when she was 14 years old.

In this movie, she acted opposite a very popular actor in Nepali Film Industry named Bhuwan K.C. She married a well-known director named Binod Manandhar and after that, she renamed herself Karishma Manandhar. Her popularity increased after her marriage so she is well known as Karishma Manandhar than Karishma K.C.

She also has a daughter named Kavita Manandhar. Her major Nepali Movie is ‘Mann Ma Maya’ and ‘Paapi Maanche’. She is active in the film Industry since 1988 to present.

12. Jharna Bajracharya

Jharna Bajracharya was born in 1981 in Kathmandu, Nepal. Her real name is Jharna Bajracharya Rashid. She completed her degree from Siddhartha Vanasthali Institute of Sociology. Her occupation is Actress, Model, and Painter. She won Miss Nepal Award in 1997 at the age of sixteen. She represented Nepal in the Miss World contest held on November 22, 1997, at Baie Lazare, Seychelles. Her father’s name is Rashid and her mother’s name is Lalana Bajracharya. She was married to Rahul Agrawal in 2015.

She acted in Parent Maya Jalaima. This story won the best story award at the Nepali Film Awards.  After acting in this story she promptly made her way into Mumbai to find her place in Bollywood. She worked in a Hindi movie named Love in Nepal and many advertisements.

Her last Nepali movie was Kohi Mero which was released in 2010. 13.  Poornima Shrestha

Poornima Shrestha, otherwise called Sushma Shrestha, is a prominent Bollywood playback artist who has sung numerous superhit melodies in the Bollywood music industry. Sushma began her profession as a child vocalist in Ramesh Sippy’s 1971 film Andaz.

In that movie, Poornima sang a song under the melody heading of Shankar Jaikishan the tune “Hai Na Bolo” alongside Mohammed Rafi, Suman Kalyanpur, and Pratibha. The tune went ahead to wind up a hit. She sang various Nepali tunes; the most famous song is from the year 1980 Nepali motion picture Sindoor, ‘Ali Ali Haar Ho’.

She is generally associated with her tunes such as “Tera Mujhse Hai Pehle” from Aa Gale Lag Jaa (1973) and “Kya Hua Tera Vada” from Hum Kisise Kum Naheen (1977); both obtained her assignments for the Filmfare Best Female Playback Award.
