International day for the total elimination of nuclear weapons:- On the International Day for the Elimination of Nuclear Weapons, people worldwide are taking a step forward in the campaign to disarm nuclear weapons.
In 2013, the UN General Assembly (UNGA) declared September 26 to be the International Day for the Total Elimination of Nuclear Weapons (Nuclear Abolition Day).
There are several reasons for the drive to reduce the number of atomic weapons globally and to eliminate nuclear weapons from the face of the earth forever.
To this end, there have been many events held worldwide to celebrate and encourage the public to participate in this effort and take a hand in the fight to eradicate nuclear weapons from the face of the earth.

The causes of global warming are well known; many scientists attribute it to human emissions of greenhouse gases. By reducing nuclear weapons, we can make sure that our planet does not become a world with a shortage of natural resources that could cause serious future generations.
We are using our brains to find the solution to global warming; it is up to us to make the right decision. By eliminating nuclear weapons, we can make the right decision to save the environment and prevent artificial means of energy.

Because of the dangers of nuclear weapons in the hands of an unstable government, international atomic disarmament has become a very pressing issue for many people.
The General Assembly commemorates 26 September as the International Day for the Total Elimination of Nuclear Weapons. This Day provides an occasion for the world community to reaffirm its commitment to global nuclear disarmament as a priority.
When we eliminate nuclear weapons and the governments that have them, we will be doing our part to help keep the peace and avoid nuclear weapons in conflicts between states.
In addition to eliminating nuclear weapons, we should also make sure that the countries that have them make efforts to eliminate nuclear weapons. Many countries worldwide have not made efforts to get rid of their nuclear weapons for some time now. We should put pressure on these countries and help them meet their obligations to eliminate their nuclear weapons.

This is the perfect opportunity to remind people around the world that this day is a chance to get together and celebrate the fact that we have taken the first steps to eliminate nuclear weapons.
We are taking this action because it is not only our responsibility to make sure that we create a better world; it is also our responsibility to make sure that we protect the planet for future generations.

Once the world has achieved nuclear disarmament, the nations with nuclear weapons will be forced to do the same or else suffer the consequences.
The only true guarantee against the use of nuclear weapons is their total elimination. This remains the United Nations’ – and my personal – highest disarmament priority.
António Guterres
We cannot allow a nuclear power plant to be built near a city or for fear of an attack, we cannot allow a nuclear scientist to be assassinated, and we cannot let a nuclear weapons storage facility go up in flames.

It is our responsibility to make sure that nuclear power is no longer used; it is our responsibility to make sure that the world has no nuclear power whatsoever.
