7. BAPS Shri Swaminarayan Temple Canada:

BAPS Shri Swami Narayan Mandir is located in Toronto. It was built by BAPS Swami Narayana Sanstha in 2007 and took 18 months to complete. The temple comprises of 24,000 pieces of hand-carved Italian marble.

It is also composed of Turkish limestone and Indian pink stone. This is one of the largest temples in Canada and extends over 18 acres. Thousands of people showed up in the early eighties giving generously and Vishnu Mandir became a physical reality in 1984. Temple practitioners are very careful to establish the schedules and dates of all rituals according to the phases of the moon. The Bal-Vihaar program in Vishnu Mandir is based on Purna Vidya by Pujya Swami Dayananda Saraswati and is authorized by Swamini Pramananda and Sri Dhira Chaitanya.

The program provides a bulky resource for learning and assimilating the basics of living in a regular and systematic weekly program. Through this program, children in Bal-Vihaar classes learn about Hindu cultural heritage, with a focus on living a life based on values.

With the help of Vedic literature and the study of their spiritual cultural traditions, the program offers:

Knowledge of the universal values of life.
Exposure to forms of prayers and worship.
To preserve the Indian culture and tradition, Vishnu Mandir offers sangeet, harmony and voice classes, and board classes. Devotees: adults and children, they are taught semi-classical and Bollywood compositions, kirtans and bhajans.

Advanced students present themselves in the temple services to an audience of approximately 300 to 400 devotees. Yoga classes are offered every Tuesday from 7 to 8:30 p. M.

In Vishnu Mandir, in The Anand Bhawan. These classes are based on the teachings of Swami Ramdev, Healthy Living through Pran Yog. Yoga is more than just physical activity, it also has a spiritual aspect.

Lakshmi Sabha, of Vishnu Mandir, sponsors seminars on health topics such as diabetes, colon cancer, cancer in general, heart care, and disabilities to address the problem in a family environment, where to obtain information and help on these issues.

The seminars are sponsored quarterly and the speakers at these events are normally specialists in the field of health, normally recruited by Dr. Doobay. These information sessions take place after Sunday service and lunch.

Laxmi Sabha (TLS) is the group of women in Vishnu Mandir, working diligently in unison for the enrichment of Mandir and the community in general; supporting all units and activities under the umbrella of Voice of Vedas (VOV), whether religious, spiritual, educational or charitable.

Created since the beginning of the temple in 1977, the group continues to be strong with a current membership of thirty and growing.

Older people in the house of the elderly (Anand Bhawan of Vishnu Mandir) and the elderly in the community meet every fifteen days to discuss current events that affect them, sing songs, play games and enjoy snacks and lunches prepared by the older people who help Omo in her noble venture.

The formation of the Youth Group was of great interest this year in VOV. The truth of our youth is that it has been the missing link for a couple of years. The youth of today are certainly high energy and reactionary and are called by many different names like millennials, gene X, gene Y, gen-Next, etc.

12. Shiva Ganesh Temple

Shiva Ganesh Mandir is dedicated to serving the Hindu population of the Greater Toronto area. Founded in 1995, the temple is located at 16 Regan Road, Unit # 44, in Brampton, Ontario. 16. Ganesh Temple

The Ganesh Temple was built strictly according to Agama Sastra that emerged from the Yajur Veda and presents the calculations and methods to build a Hindu temple and is used in India, Sri Lanka, Singapore, and Malaysia.

The temple itself is 18,000 square feet with 28-foot ceilings of this tremendous size and space intended to give the feeling of being inside the great temples at home. In the future, the floors will be finished with granite and the pillars will be carved

The Ganesh Temple is run by a board of trustees of 19 members, which is elected every two years. The duties of running the temple that has annual revenues of $ 1.2 million are delegated to 10 committees.

The daily management of the temple is carried out by a manager and a deputy manager. The Ganesh Temple currently has 7 tuned priests who are recruited from India and Sri Lanka.

Candidates are selected by volunteers and experts in Vedas and Aganias. The priests are then helped to obtain visas and are provided with accommodation, a salary, and medical care.

The temple also houses tours of the temple for university classes. The magazine published by the temple contains the history of the temple, description of the construction, descriptions of the deities and photographs of them, as well as advertisements of local companies. All articles are in Tamil and English.

Rituals and Festivals

The rituals of the Ganesh Temple consist of a variety of activities, one of the most important is the Archana in which the devotee buys a ticket, this and a piece of paper with the person’s name and the astrological sign written on it, is presented to the priest. The priest then sings the name of God in Sanskrit 108 times in honor of the person.

The puja is done continuously throughout the day and the deities bathe in turmeric, sandalwood paste, yogurt, honey, and milk. They are offered flowers, coconuts, and camphor. Prasad of Coconut, lotus flowers, and sacred ash are offered to devotees, and money is offered in return.

The Ganesh temple celebrates a multitude of festivals centered around the many gods and goddesses represented in the temple. These include: an annual festival in honor of Manigan called Tiruvizha, Navaratri (September-October), festival in honor of Lord Venkateswara (Vishnu) (SeptQct), Diwali in honor of Sri Varalaxrni (September-October) Thimvemba (December-January) festival dedicated to Siva in the form of Nataraj, recital of Markazhi (December-January) recital of 30 Tamil songs in praise of Lord Vishnu and composed of Andal, Ram Navami festival dedicated to Lord Rama (Mar-Apr) Adipooram (August) celebration of Andal birthday.

The deities venerated in the Ganesh Temple are broadly comparable to those of the other temples however, the composition of the southern Indian temple is shown in the Gods and Goddesses, as well as in the design of the temple itself.

The deities represented by the vigils are Ganesh, the altar is 23 feet high, is the most popular deity in the temple, Murugan (Subramanya / Karthik) is the second son of Lord Shiva and commander in chief of the divine army.

The current temple is a two-story house with the entire lower floor that serves as a mandap. The statues of the deities are found on the east side of the room and the pictorial representations of other deities along the east wall. The upper floor houses the offices and the dining room.

18. Sri Hanuman Mandir

Shri Hanuman Mandir is located in the city of Brampton in the Canadian province of southern Ontario in the country of Canada. It is a suburban city in the Toronto metropolitan area (GTA).

Taking its name from the commercial city of Brampton, in Cumbria, England, the city was once known as “The Flower Town of Canada,” a title based on its large greenhouse industry.

This temple is managed by Swami Mohan Dass Sewa Samiti of Canada. The main deity of the temple, Lord Hanuman, is in a standing position holding mace (Gada) in the left hand and giving blessings where it is written as “Jai Shri Ram” in Abhaya hasta mudra.

21. The Shirdi Sai Baba

The Shirdi Sai Baba temple is another famous Hindu temple in Canada. The Shirdi Sai Mandir is situated at 2721 Markham Road in Toronto, ON. It is located just north of Finch Road and Markham Road. The temple is spread across 4 units (6,7, 8, and 9) with a total area of approximately 8,000 square feet.

The entrance to the Mandir is from Unit 6 that leads to the reception area with facilities for placing footwear and jackets. The bathrooms have been provided by the reception area.

After crossing unit 7, further into the reception area, devotees enter unit 8, which is the main hall of darshan and meditation. The beautiful marble of Baba, facing west, is at the east end. Baba’s benign look and mystical smile welcome everyone to his Dwarkamai in Toronto.

This is one of the few Mandir in which devotees can touch Baba’s Murthy to seek blessings and energy. Devotees are requested to ensure that ornaments such as rings and bracelets do not scratch Baba.

Devotees can offer parikrama to Baba around the altar. The temple community asks devotees to refrain from performing parikrama during Aarti and puja. Parikrama may not be possible on busy days, such as Thursdays and important events. You should follow the guidelines provided by employees and volunteers.

Unit 9, to the left of Baba, houses a stage for Bhajan singers. A rest area is available in Unit 7 for seniors. The Prasadalay (food distribution) is located in Unit 6 and can accommodate up to 150 devotees.

In the west corner of unit 6, a small kitchen is located. The resource center is located in Unit 7, where several items such as Satcharita (in several languages), CDs, books can be purchased by devotees for nominal donations.

Gurmandir

The name of Gurmandir was formally incorporated on January 23, 1996, and on May 21, 1996, it was registered as a charity in Revenue Canada with registration no. 890174444. All donations to Gurmandir are tax-deductible.

Going to pray in a mandir is a journey that transforms an individual with earthly attachments to the true essence of life, peace. The Gurmandir has been built to help devotees, to achieve this transformation, in stages, so that they can lead one to the inner sanctuary of their being.

The deities in the temple are Ram, Sita, and Laxman, Devi Maa, Lord shiva complete with Shivling and Nandi, Lord Ganesh, Goddess Lakshmi, Lord Hanuman, Shirdi Saibaba, Lord Vishnu, Guru Nanak, Jhulelal.

Religious services

You can visit the Temple for your family’s religious needs, including Nam Karan Sansakars for newborn babies, birthdays, anniversaries, Janeun Sansakars, marriages, Puja, Katha, Hanuman Chalisa, and all other religious services.

The Temple maintains a modern kitchen and dining room, a large assembly hall (main temple), along with large parking to meet your needs.
