In the day of Ram Navami, People keep fasting and they visit temples of Lord Ramnearby. some people also go to the big temples as a pilgrimage. How do Hindus celebrate Chaite Dashain
As we all know that Chaite Dashain is the celebration of the victory of good over a demon. People keep fasting on the day of Ram Navami and visit temples of Lord Ram nearest to their home. Story Behind the celebrating Chaite Dashain
This festival Ram Nawami of Hindus is a birthday of Hindu Lord Rama. The festival Chaitra Dashain is the day when Lord Rama came back to Ayodhya with his wife Sita, brother Laxman, Hanuman and his military after 14 years of his exile. People of Ayodhya celebrated this day as a festival and this started the trend of celebrating the festival.
In Hindu religion, it is the public faith that Lord Rama is the incarnation of Lord Vishnu. Lord Rama is now known as Maryada Purushottam Ram. He was dutiful and obeying. He was a great king, good husband, and a great son. He showed the example of what humanity should be.
It is said Lord Rama worshiped Goddess Durga Bhawani for nine days before Ravan was killed. Ravan was an evil King of Lanka (Sri Lanka). Therefore, these nine days are regarded as worship days and the tenth day is the victory day to take Prasad.
It is public believed that the Goddess Durga’s power had helped Lord Ram to achieve his victory over the demon Ravan. The Goddess Durga was the source of power of Lord Rama. So, Goddess Durga is also worshipped on this Dashain occasion. All ritual offerings & sacrifices are made to Durga, exactly six months away from her great festival of Dashain.
Bada Dashain, the greatest festival of Nepal, is celebrated in honor of Goddess Durga around early October. Meanwhile, Chaite Dashain takes place exactly six months prior to Bada Dashain.
